The Insurance Compensation Consortium is the entity that takes care of this type of material and personal damage, acting as a guarantee for all the possible injured parties. The coverage limits would be those established by the current legislation of the Compulsory Vehicle Insurance. The Consortium reserves the repetition of expenses against the cause of said situation.
Compulsory insurance coverage amounts:
- In damages to people, 70 million euros per incident, regardless of the number of victims.
- In property damage, 15 million euros per claim.
unknown vehicle
In this case, the Consortium only covers personal damage in general, except in the event of a Death, Permanent Disability or Temporary Disability of more than one week, in this case the Consortium will also cover material damage with a deductible not exceeding €500.
stolen vehicle
In this case, material and personal damage to third parties is covered. Occupants knowing that they were driving in a stolen vehicle are excluded
