Damage forecasts for an approximate amount of €8.000.000 and about 2.100 claims
We summarize the assessment of the Insurance Compensation Consortium:
- During the days 20 to 25 October 2015 there have been several torrential rains that have affected the islands of the province of Las Palmas.
- The damage has been especially intense on the island of Gran Canaria and, specifically, in the cities of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Telde, as well as, to a lesser extent, Gáldar and Santa María de Guía. In addition, on the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote there have been floods between the 23rd and 25th.
- The first estimates are of about 2.100 claims, of which approximately 1.600 correspond to homes, businesses and industries and 500 to motor vehicles.
- The equally estimated cost of claims amounts to between €7,5 and €8 million.
